হাফিজ সেলিম, কুড়িগ্রামঃ কুড়িগ্রামের উলিপুরে বিএনপি’র মেয়র প্রার্থীর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যাচার ও ষড়যন্ত্রের অভিযোগ তোলা হয়েছে। টাকা দিয়ে ভোট ক্রয় ও বিএনপি সমর্থিত কাউন্সিলর প্রার্থীদের বাড়িতে ভুরিভোজের ব্যবস্থাসহ বিভিন্ন অভিযোগ তুলে মঙ্গলবার (২৬ জানুয়ারী) বিকাল ৫টায় নৌকা মার্কার নির্বাচনী কার্যালয়ে সংবাদ সম্মেলন করেন আওয়ামীলীগ সমর্থিত মেয়র প্রার্থী মামুন সরকার মিঠু।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে মিঠু অভিযোগ করে বলেন, বিএনপির প্রার্থী তাদের জাতীয় রাজনৈতিক চরিত্র মিথ্যাচার ও ষড়যন্ত্রের অংশ হিসাবে মিথ্যা অভিযোগ সৃষ্টির প্রক্রিয়া থেকে আজও বের হতে পারেনি। বিএনপির দলীয় কর্মীরা মাথায় হেলমেট পড়ে নিজেদের প্রচার মাইকের মেশিন ছিনতাই করে নৌকা মার্কার কর্মীদের দোষারোপ করছেন। রাতের অন্ধকারে বিএনপির কর্মী আজিজার রহমান মাষ্টারের বাড়িতে নিজেরাই হামলা চালিয়ে আওয়ামীলীগের কর্মীদের দোষ দিচ্ছেন। এ ধরনের বিভিন্ন মিথ্যা অভিযোগ দিয়ে ইস্যু সৃষ্টি করে নির্বাচনী শান্ত পরিবেশকে উত্তপ্ত করার অপচেষ্টা করছে বিএনপি।
তিনি সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আরও অভিযোগ করেন, বিএনপির প্রার্থীর লোকজন তাদের সমর্থিত কাউন্সিলর প্রার্থীদের বাড়িতে বসে কৌশলে ভোটারদেরকে টাকা দিয়ে ভোট ক্রয় করছেন। একই সঙ্গে কর্মীদের বাড়িতে বিভিন্ন অজুহাতে ভুরিভোজের আয়োজন করে বিএনপির ভোটারদের একত্রিত করছেন। সম্প্রতি শীর্তাত মানুষের জন্য বরাদ্দকৃত সরকারি কম্বল বিএনপি সমর্থিত মেয়র প্রার্থী এবং উপজেলা বিএনপির সাধারন সম্পাদকের স্বাক্ষরে ভোটারদের সমর্থনের আশায় বিএনপির কম্বল বলে প্রচার করে পৌরসভা কার্যালয় থেকে কৌশলে বিতরন করে নির্বাচনী আচরন বিধি লঙ্ঘন করে। এ ঘটনাকে ভিন্ন খাতে পরিচালিত করতে তারা জেলা প্রশাসকসহ সর্বত্র মিথ্যা অভিযোগ দাখিল করেছেন।
সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি আরও বলেন, আওয়ামীলীগ সুষ্ঠ নির্বাচন চায়। বিএনপির কাছ থেকে জনগন মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়েছে। তিনি আশংকা করে বলেন, ভোটের দিন বিএনপির কর্মীরা নিজেরাই ভোট কেন্দ্রগুলোতে সংঘাত সৃষ্টি করে ভোটের পরিবেশ নষ্ট করে আওয়ামীলীগের উপর দোষ চাপানোর পায়তারা করছে। এ কারনে বিএনপি প্রার্থী নির্বাচনী প্রচারনায় না থেকে ঘরে বসে শুধু মিথ্যাচার করছেন।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন, আওয়ামীলীগ সমর্থিত মেয়র প্রার্থী মামুন সরকার মিঠু, পৌর আওয়ামীলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক আবু সাঈদ সরকার, তথ্য ও গবেষনা বিষয়ক সম্পাদক আব্দুল মালেক ও দলদলিয়া ইউনিয়ন আওয়ামীলীগের সহ-সভাপতি সহকারী অধ্যাপক জাহাঙ্গীর আলম সরদার প্রমুখ।
উল্লেখ্য, গত সোমবার (২৫ জানুয়ারী) বিএনপির মেয়র প্রার্থী হায়দার আলী মিঞা সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আওয়ামীলীগের নেতা-কর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে প্রচারনায় বাঁধাসহ বিভিন্ন অভিযোগ তুলে ধরেন। এরই প্রেক্ষিতে মঙ্গলবার বিকালে আওয়ামীলীগ প্রার্থী মামুন সরকার মিঠু সংবাদ সম্মেলন করে বিএপির প্রার্থীর বিরুদ্ধে মিথ্যাচার ও ষড়যন্ত্রের অভিযোগ তোলেন। উলিপুর পৌরসভার নির্বাচন ৩০ জানুয়ারি অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
